The Boy Who Lived is Back! HBO’s New Harry Potter Poster Sends Fans Into a Frenzy!

One eye. One lightning bolt scar. One date. That’s all it took to send Harry Potter fans around the world into a frenzy!

HBO, HBO Max and Harry Potter’s official social media accounts have unveiled a striking new poster for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone television series, and it’s certainly got Potterheads talking!

The image features an extreme close-up of Dominic McLaughlin as the new Harry Potter. His famous round glasses frame one eye, while the lightning bolt scar on his forehead is unmistakable.

But look closely at the lens!

Reflected in Harry’s glasses is Hogwarts Castle, offering fans an intriguing glimpse of the magical school as it will appear in the new series. The words “The Boy Who Lived” complete the image.

And tucked into the bottom of the poster is the date everyone has been waiting for: December 25.

Christmas at Hogwarts is Officially on the Calendar!

We already knew the series was coming on Christmas Day 2026. HBO confirmed that back in March.

But there’s something about seeing the actual date on an official poster that makes it feel suddenly, wonderfully real.

And fans have questions. LOTS of questions!

What time will the first episode premiere? Will everyone around the world get to watch simultaneously? How long will the opening episode be? And when will the remaining episodes arrive?

Some fans are already discussing how to organise Christmas celebrations around the premiere. Others are scrutinising every detail of Harry’s appearance, particularly his scar and the tantalising reflection of Hogwarts.

Eight Episodes. One Magical Book.

What we do know is that the first season will adapt Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone across eight episodes.

That’s eight opportunities to explore the story that started it all, from the cupboard under the stairs to the corridors of Hogwarts.

However, HBO hasn’t confirmed exactly how the book’s chapters will be divided between episodes, how long each episode will run or when the remaining seven episodes will be released.

And while rumours of an extra-long premiere are circulating, there’s no official confirmation of its duration.

The Christmas Countdown Begins!

Here at Quizzic Alley, we’re just as excited as everyone else to return to Hogwarts with a whole new generation of witches and wizards.

And we’re particularly interested in one rather important question: what time will Australian fans actually get to watch?

Because Christmas Day in Australia is very different from Christmas Day in The UK or America!

We’ll be keeping a close eye on announcements as the premiere approaches.

In the meantime, tell us: will you be watching the moment the new series drops, or saving the magic for a family viewing?
